While working on the "Sojourner" with Jerry, Tom was very attracted to the distinctive lines so commonly found on canoes of the late 1800's. Jerry graciously agreed to allow Tom to take the lines from the E.M. White mold, and guided Tom in the building of his own custom mold.
Tom now builds two versions of that early canoe. The 16' "White Wanderer", a shallow draft canoe with the shear line of the original Maliseet Indian Birch Bark canoe, and the "White Light Tripper" a 12 ¾" deep hull with a faired shear to keep the ends out of the wind.
Both canoes capture the beauty and gracefulness of a time gone by, and perform admirably, as the original Maliseets intended.
